Communications/Social Media Intern (Paid, Part-time)

About the Energy for Growth Hub
The Energy for Growth Hub is a nonprofit global research network recently spun off from the Center for Global Development. Our mission is to use data and evidence to promote energy solutions that support job creation and economic opportunity for everyone. We do this by translating the latest energy research into accessible insights and matching policymakers to potential solutions.

Responsibilities

  • Help to manage social media accounts including Twitter and Linkedin
  • Draft posts and commentary
  • Produce basic graphics and quote cards for social media
  • Track engagement analytics for social media + website
  • Assist with email engagements, newsletters, announcements, etc
  • Other research and communications tasks

The Communications Intern will primarily assist Hub staff on the above responsibilities.

Qualifications

  • BA or studying for a degree in a relevant field (e.g., communications, marketing, or energy or economic development with an interest in non-profit communications)
  • Demonstrated interest in energy, development, or economics
  • Strong organizational and communications skills
  • Stellar writing and editing skills; must be able to communicate academic research clearly, thoughtfully, and without jargon
  • Entrepreneurial spirit, flexibility, and a sense of humor

Location: Remote – occasional commute into DC
Compensation: $20 per hour
Term of Internship: ~10hrs/wk, but flexible
