Benjamin Attia is a Principal Research Analyst in the Energy Transition practice at Wood Mackenzie, a global consultancy providing market research, analytics, and advisory services across the energy sector. He leads the firm’s coverage of solar PV markets and power sector transitions in emerging markets, mostly in Africa and the Middle East. He also conducts affiliated research with various partners and as a Non-Resident Fellow at The Payne Institute for Public Policy and the James E. Rogers Energy Access Project at Duke University. He was a 2021 National Fellow at the Clean Energy Leadership Institute. He previously worked in solar asset management at SunEdison, on regulatory research for U.S. utilities at the National Regulatory Research Institute, and led market development and strategy at Mee Panyar. Benjamin holds a Masters of Energy & Environmental Policy and a B.S. in Economics and Energy & Environmental Policy from the Biden School of Public Policy & Administration at the University of Delaware.
