Benjamin Attia is Research Lead for Energy, Climate and Sustainability at Blackrock Sustainable Investing. He is working to develop the firm’s house scenario on the pace and drivers of the net zero energy transition, physical and transition risks, and investment opportunities in deep decarbonization to guide asset allocations for its sustainable investing portfolio. He also conducts affiliated research with various partners and as a Non-Resident Fellow at The Payne Institute for Public Policy and the James E. Rogers Energy Access Project at Duke University. He was a 2021 National Fellow at the Clean Energy Leadership Institute. He previously worked in solar asset management at SunEdison, on regulatory research for U.S. utilities at the National Regulatory Research Institute, and led market development and strategy at Mee Panyar. Benjamin holds a Masters of Energy & Environmental Policy and a B.S. in Economics and Energy & Environmental Policy from the Biden School of Public Policy & Administration at the University of Delaware.
